Q and Z Series - How to Manage Security Certificates
Installing Certificates
- First, ensure the panel has the latest available firmware installed. Check this article for more information.
- Press the "Settings" cog in the top right corner of the home screen.
- Select Network.
- Select Other.
- Select Encryption & credentials.
- Select Install a certificate.
- Select the appropriate certificate option from the list. If you are unsure which option to select, please refer to your certificate authority or IT administrator.
- If "CA certificate" is selected, the warning below will be presented, due to the nature of CA certificates. Select "Install anyway" to proceed.
- If "CA certificate" is selected, the warning below will be presented, due to the nature of CA certificates. Select "Install anyway" to proceed.
- Select the certificate file from your local storage or USB drive. Use the three lines menu in the top left to select a different storage location, if necessary. In the example below, the "ContentKeeper" file is the certificate, and is in a .crt file format.
- For Wi-Fi certificates, you will be prompted to enter the certificate name, as seen below. This is not required for CA certificates.
- Once the certificate is installed, you will briefly see a notification at the bottom of the screen for the type of certificate selected.
- If the certificate type selected does not match the provided file, an error message will be displayed. A different certificate type must be selected.
Viewing Certificates
- On the Encryption & credentials page (Settings > Network > Other > Encryption & credentials) select either Trusted credentials, or User credentials, depending on the type of certificate that was installed.
- For Trusted credentials, tap the USER option at the top of the page to view installed certificates.
- The User credentials option will show Wi-Fi certificates as well as VPN & app user certificates:
Deleting Certificates
- To remove a single certificate, from the Encryption & credentials page (Settings > Network > Other > Encryption & credentials), select either User credentials or Trusted credentials > USER. Tap the name of the certificate, then tap remove.
- To remove all certificates, tap the "Clear credentials" option on the Encryption & credentials page. Tap OK when prompted.
