Newline Cast - Parsing Error


When updating the Newline cast app on the panel, there are some instances where it fails resulting in a "parsing error".


To resolve this, please try the following:


  • Ensure the panel's firmware is up to date. Check the following article to find the latest firmware version for your panel: https://newlineinteractive.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/8000109794-current-firmware-versions
  • Reconfigure the app settings to ensure it can properly install updates:
    1. Access the panel's settings > Apps > Newline Cast.
    2. Click Force stop to close the application.
    3. Scroll through the app settings and locate Install other apps or Install unknown sources.
    4. Enable Allow from this source.
    5. Go back a page and select Modify System settings.
    6. Enable Allow modify system settings.
    7. Go back to the homepage of the panel and then click Screen sharing to re-initiate the app update.
