How to Remove Profiles or the Passkey
Below is an article on how to remove profiles or the security passkey to your Newline Panel.
Please check below for helpful tips if your panel does not have these options while following these steps. Depending on the firmware version, your panel is currently on.
- First, ensure that you are logged into the Owner profile
- On the home screen of your panel, tap the settings icon in the top right corner
- Scroll all the way down and tap System
- Tap Advanced
- Type in your Admin passcode. (Please reach out to your technical services team if you do not have the code.)
- Depending on the firmware version, the option to remove the passwords will be under one of these:
- Security > Turn the "Disable Login Password" slider on
- Accounts > Turn the "Single user mode" slider on
- Read the prompt that appears, and then select confirm
- The panel will reboot, and it will bypass the user profile screen.
Helpful tips:
For the Q Series:
- Removing security passcode is not a feature until firmware version 1.1.42; Once the panel is to this point, you can locate "Disable login passcode" within the security sub-menu.
- Once the panel is updated to firmware 1.1.56 it will be moved into the System menu under the Advanced sub-menu (Admin Mode) once you are in this menu the setting can be found in accounts (Single user mode)
For the Z Series:
- Removing security passcode is not a feature until firmware version 1.1.40; Once the panel is to this point, you can locate "Disable login passcode" within the security sub-menu.
- Once the panel is updated to firmware 1.1.63 it will be moved into the System menu under the Advanced sub-menu (Admin Mode) once you are in this menu the setting can be found in accounts (Single user mode)
