Display Setup for New OPS Devices on Legacy Panels
This article provides step-by-step instructions for adjusting the display settings on newer OPS units when used with legacy panels. Legacy panels include all RS+ series and earlier models. You may need to follow this process if you experience any of the following issues: a black screen, static display, or the OPS source remaining stuck on the "Loading" screen.
What you'll need:
- Access to Quick Assist
- (A Windows Pre-Installed program)
- HDMI Cable
- Mouse
- Keyboard
Getting everything set up:
- First, change EDID setting on your panel to 1.4.This option may or may not be available based on the model of your panel.
- Access the settings of the panel.
- Click Input and Output.
- Under HDMI 1/2 EDID, change the value to 1.4.
- Check if the issue occurs.
- Please have your OPS in your panel and have everything powered on.
- Then, connect an HDMI Cable from the OPS unit's HDMI Out port into one of the panel's HDMI In ports.
- Connect the mouse and keyboard to the OPS unit's USB-A ports.
- Now, connect to the OPS via Quick Assist.
- Open Quick Assist on both your PC and the OPS.
- Select "Help someone" on your PC.
- Enter the code provided into the OPS's Quick Assist window.
- Once it loads, request control of the OPS from your PC.
- Accept the request to have control on the OPS.
- Now that you have control, unplug the HDMI cable from the OPS or panel.
- This is crucial to the process! We need to change the default refresh rate setting of the OPS.
- Go back into the OPS source on the panel.
Now, to adjust the Display settings:
- In the OPS, open 'Display settings'
- Right click on the home screen, select 'Display settings'.
- Right click on the home screen, select 'Display settings'.
- Scroll down and go into 'Advanced display'.
- Next to 'Choose a refresh rate', select 30 Hz.
