How to switch between or close open apps on a panel


This article describes how to access the Running Apps screen, App switcher, or "Recents screen". This screen allows you to view applications that are running in the background, quickly switch between them, or close any active applications.

One way to access this screen is by using the "Task" button on the Q/Z/RS remote control:

 

If you do not have the remote control, or have a different model panel, see below for accessing and using the Running Apps screen directly on your panel.



Z Series:

  1. Tap the toolbar icon on the left or right of the panel:
  2. Tap the Task icon on the toolbar:
  3. To close an application, tap the X next to the name of an app (1). To close all apps, tap the trash can icon (2), then confirm by tapping "Clear". To switch to a different app, tap anywhere in the window of the application preview (3). To exit the Running Apps screen, tap the Home button on the toolbar (4).


Q Series:

  1. Tap the toolbar icon on the left or right of the panel:
  2. Tap the Task icon on the toolbar:
  3. To close an application, tap the X next to the name of an app (1). To close all apps, tap the trash can icon (2), then confirm by tapping "Clear". To switch to a different app, tap anywhere in the window of the application preview (3). To exit the Running Apps screen, tap the Home button on the toolbar (4).


NT+ Series (remote control required):

  1. Press Menu on the remote control to access the main screen of the panel:
  2. If you're in the Settings section, scroll the top. You do not need to be at the top menu if you're on Gadgets or Sources.
  3. Press Up twice on the remote. The Running Apps screen will open.
  4. Navigate to the app to switch to or close with the arrows on the remote control. To switch to the app, select it (1) by pressing the check button on the remote. To close the app, press down on the remote, then select the close option (2) with the check button on the remote. To exit the Running apps screen, navigate to and select the Return option (3).


18RS and 19RS Series:

VN and X6/X8/X9:

  1. Press and hold the "PC" icon on the bottom of the toolbar:
  2. Tap the Task icon:
  3. To close an application, tap the X next to the name of an app (1). To switch to a different app, tap anywhere in the window of the application preview (2). To exit the Running Apps screen, tap the Home button on the toolbar (3).
  4. Additionally, the bottom icon on the toolbar can be customized to provide easier access to the Task icon. This is accessed through the panel settings > Tool bar, under "Customized icon":
