NDM - How to Create Groups

Creating a group is a very effective approach for overseeing a substantial number of panels situated in different locations or serving distinct purposes. A group allows you to apply apps to panels sharing the same tags associated with the group. You can also apply commands to the devices in the group.

There is no limit to the number of groups you can create in an account and a device can be a member of more than one group.

By default, there is a group called All. The “All” group is a master group containing all the devices enrolled to the account and that is allowed to be viewed by the logged in user.

How to create groups

1. In the management portal, click Groups on the top right corner.

2. Click the plus sign to create a new group.

3. Add a name to your group.

4. Click the tag icon on the left and assign a tag to your group. After you assign a tag, any panels with the same tag will be added to the group. You can add multiple tags to a group, but keep in mind of the conditions below.

5. (Optional) Click the package icon on the left and then click Add packages. Select the package/app repository and then click Add. This means that any panels added to the group will automatically install the apps on the panel.

6. Click Save to finalize the group.

How to apply commands to groups

Once a group has been created, you can apply commands to the group by clicking the 3 dots next to it.

You can also edit the group or delete the group by clicking the 3 dots next to it.
