NDM - How to Prevent Users from Installing or Updating Apps

The Newline Display Management offers the ability to prevent users from updating or installing an app on the panel.

You can create a new custom settings repository for disallowing the installation of apps or just add this to your existing general settings repository.

1. In the management portal, select one or multiple panels by adding a check mark next to it.

2. Click Device setting from the top menu.

3. Click Add new.

4. Type a name for your new device setting repository.

5. Click the gear icon on the left.

6. In the “Apps” section, click the toggle next to Disallow Install Apps. The toggle should turn blue.

7. Click Confirm.

8. Choose the repository you’ve created from the list, then select “Apply.” This will push the selected settings repository to any panel you’ve chosen from your list of devices

The same can be done to reverse the change with a slight adjustment to step 6.

6. In the “Apps” section, click the toggle next to Disallow Install Apps. The toggle should turn red.
