How to Reinstall Windows
Below is an article on how to reinstall windows on your device. This guide is written for the Newline OPS units; however, the same methodology will work for other Windows devices. The drivers will not need to be installed if this is a non-OPS device.
Before beginning this process, please verify you have authorization with your IT department to perform this task, as it should be reserved for when the operating system is experiencing something beyond recovery.
- Use the Windows 10 media creation tool on a PC other than the device you are attempting to fix. In order to create a recovery drive for reinstalling Windows 10 Pro, please follow this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
- For Windows 11, please use this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
- Once the recovery drive is created, insert it into one of the USB ports on the OPS/onboard PC unit, or similar device.
- Restart or power cycle the computer. During POST (before it tries to boot), press F11 or F12 (see helpful tips if F11 or F12 is not working) to access the boot menu and choose the flash drive
- Delete all partitions when reinstalling Windows
- All steps are at "How to perform clean install of Windows 10" if step-by-step instructions are needed after booting to the flash drive: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-do-clean-installation-windows-10
- Activate Windows once the computer is online using the key on the OPS. You may need to remove the OPS from the Newline panel to see the Windows product key.

- There is a white sticker on the OPS unit that has the model.
- These drivers are for internal PC components and not related to the touch functionality.
Helpful tips:
- If you are attempting to reinstall windows on a device that is not an OPS and F11 or F12 is not working, please verify the BIOS key by looking up your manufacturer on Google. Often it can be the DEL, ESC, or F1 key as well.
- Getting into the BIOS can also be difficult if the timing is off, F11 or F12 may be correct. Restarting the device and attempting to get into the BIOS may need to be repeated to successfully complete this process.
