Issue: Touch screen is not functioning as expected when a Windows computer is in extended mode
**For macOS-based computers, please click here**
When the computer is in extended mode, it will not be able to register which monitor is a touch screen. Therefore, a short setup is required to have the computer recognize the screen that has touch-enabled.
- To get started, open the Control Panel and select Tablet PC Settings.
- Or, hit the Windows key and type: calibrate and select the “Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input” result at the top.
- Under Display, click the drop-down menu and select the interactive display. Depending on the model, it states Mstar demo, HHT-display, or IFP display.
- Click Setup and you will see a white screen with a set of instructions. Follow the instruction by clicking Enter to move the instructions towards the touch screen panel. Once the instructions are on the touch screen panel, tap the screen 2-3 times to register the touch and when registered, it will take you back to the Windows desktop.
- If the touch is off, select the Calibrate button under the Display tab.
- Next, your screen will go white and display instructions for going through the calibration process. It’s a simple process. A crosshair will appear on the screen and each time you tap it will move to a different spot. Continue through the entire process, and when you’re finished, you’ll be prompted to save the results. The touch screen should now be more responsive and accurate when you interact with it.
