How to Change Monitor Refresh Rate in Windows

Below is an article on how to change the refresh rate of a Windows device


  1. You can press Win+I to open Windows Settings. Having done this, go to System then Display. On your right-hand side, you will find an option called Display adapter properties.

  2. Click on it and switch to the Monitor tab after opening the Properties window. In this window, you will see a drop-down menu where you can select other given refresh rates. (See image below for Windows 11) 
    • *Windows 11 has a slightly different method of getting to the image above; it is pictured below.


Helpful tips:


  • If you have more than one monitor, you need to select the monitor before clicking on the Display adapter properties button on the Display page.
